The Saudi Organization for Certified Public Accountants (SOCPA) announced last week that the committee of Education and Training which is an independent standard-setting Committee within SOCPA, is currently working on updating the organization rules for the continuing education program. The updating aims at making the rules more comprehensive and clear. Further the procedure of updating the rules took place after conducting a comprehensive review on the laws which are implemented at the United States, United Kingdom, International Federation of Certified Accountants, Accounting and Review Committee and Gulf Corporation Council Countries (GCC).

SOCPA is a professional organization operates under the supervision of the Ministry of Commerce in order to promote the accounting and auditing profession and all matters that might lead to the development of the profession and upgrading its status.
