(Alghad newspaper-Amman,) The Seventh Scientific Professional Conference will be launched on September 13, 2006, at the Intercontinental Hotel headquarters in Jordan. Approximately 300 researchers, academics, and professionals will attend the conference, in addition to the participation of the Governmental Control Departments
The conference is organized by the Jordanian Association of Certified Public Accountants and the Arab Accountants and Auditors Federation. The conference will be about “Fair Value and Financial Reporting”
The participants represent the accounting and auditing professionals, financial mangers, and accountants in public firms, in addition to representatives from the Arab Professional Organizations such as, Palestine, Egypt, Lebanon, Syria, Yemen, Tunisia,, Morocco, Algeria, and Iraq.
The conference will be comprised of eight sessions. The main issues that will be discussed are fair value accounting and its effect on the economic sector, in addition to discussing the auditing of fair value in Jordan and the Arab World.
The Director of the Jordanian Association of Certified Public Accountants Mr. Naiem Khoury pointed out, “the main purpose of the conference is to understand accounting concepts, accounting practices in various Arab countries which will lead to developing the accounting profession,”
Mr. Khoury also noted that the issuance of fair value accounting standards will represent a new era for accounting which supersede the old accounting practices.
