AMMAN - Talal Abu-Ghazaleh and Co. (TAGCO) in cooperation with Cotecna Inspection S.A. launched on Sunday August 26, 2008 the “Balanced Scorecard” course for both Talal Abu-Ghazaleh Organization (TAGorg) employees and external employees at Talal Abu-Ghazaleh College of Business/German University (TAGCB/GJU).
The five -day course tackled various issues related to the structure and development of balanced scorecard, how to implement the balanced scorecard in business, understanding the change management implications of implementing the balanced scorecard, and translating organizations' strategic themes and objectives in a strategy map.
The main lecturer of the course is Denis Mohoney Senior Consultant at Cotecna Inspection S.A.
“This course was conducted for the importance of this methodology in the Middle East in order to assist the employees to enhance the level of their knowledge and improve there business at high quality standards” Mohoney said
“The BSC is a beneficial strategy; implementing such a strategy will assist us in implementing our goals in a professional manner” Kalhed Abu-Osbeh the Executive Director of Talal Abu Ghazaleh & Co. (TAGCO Jeddah) said.
The balanced scorecard is a concept for measuring the companies' activities in terms of its vision and strategies, to give managers a comprehensive view of the performance of a business. The key new element is focusing not only on financial outcomes but also on the human issues that drive those outcomes, so that organizations focus on the future and act in their long-term best interest
The Director of the Quality Control in TAGCO Ayman Hasan pointed out that the BSC can be viewed as an essential step in strategic planning and mapping phases and it is the tool to aid for business enterprises in assessing the quality of their strategic plans.
