NEW YORK- The International Auditing and Assurance Standards Board (IAASB), announced on October 1, 2007 that it is seeking comments on its proposed future strategy 2011 - 2009. The consultation paper proposes that the IAASB’s future strategy will focus on:
• Contributing to the effective operation of the world’s capital markets;
• Assisting with the implementation of standards; and
• Addressing the needs of small- and medium-sized enterprises.
Comments on the consultation paper are requested by November 30, 2007. The consultation paper is available on the IASB website.
IAASB is an independent standard setting board within the International Federation of Accountants (IFAC). Its objective is to serve the public interest by setting high quality standards on auditing, quality control, review, other assurance and related services.
