The International Accounting Standards Board (IASB) announced on September 19, 2006, that the last meeting of the International Financial Interpretations Committee (IFRIC) was held in London on September 7, 2006, during a two days period. The update from this meeting is available on IASB website.

IFRIC’s principal role is to consider, on a timely basis within the context of International Financial Reporting Standards and the IASB Framework, accounting issues that are likely to receive divergent or unacceptable treatment in the absence of authoritative guidance, with a view to reaching consensus on the appropriate accounting treatment.
