TAGorg and CIMA Sign Partnership Agreement

The Agreement will launch the first training and qualification program in Islamic accounting throughout the Arab region

LONDON --- June 23, 2008 --- A comprehensive strategic partnership was signed yesterday between the Talal Abu-Ghazaleh Organization (TAGorg) and the Chartered Institute of Management Accountants (CIMA) at the Institute’s headquarters in London.

The agreement will result in the convention of common training and qualification programs in all Arab countries that would award certificates in Business Accounting and Islamic Finance, in addition to an MBA in Islamic Business Finance.

The programs will be held in the English language by TAGorg in accordance with the CIMA’s accredited programs and will be subject to quality assurance by the Institute. The issued certificates themselves will be jointly recognized with the logos of both organizations embossed on them.

The agreement also states that TAGorg would translate the programs into Arabic; and eventually, it would present them in accordance with a new licensing agreement of common ownership rights.

It was also agreed to create an international institute in the area of Islamic business and financing called the Chartered Islamic Business and Finance Institute.
